Hawaii

I have almost forgotten how to blog it has been so long. My pictures are backwards so if you want to start from the beginning of our trip start at the bottom.
We all had Spring break for a week so we decided to try and go to HAWAII. It was a lot of work but also A LOT of fun! One of my favorite sayings is "It's not the Destination but the Journey." But with this trip it was the Destination and the Journey that made it so great!

This is Demmy and Grandpa waiting for the Canoe Ride at the Polynesian Culture Center. The PCC was one place everyone loved and had a great time! We didn't get too many pictures there because this was almost our last day and we had run out of space on our camera.
We had just gotten to the PCC and couldn't wait to get going. We just had to get covered in SunScreen first!
This is at the Pineapple Factory. Maycie and Dylan loved the fish almost as much as the Pineapple Icecream.

Daniel said this is his favorite place in Hawaii because he LOVES the ice cream. (and no he wasn't eating it with ketchup, that was just for the fries)
Here we all are at Pearl Harbor. We didn't go out on the boat because it was a 2 hour wait, but it sure was beautiful there.
This is Danny just chilling at the beach. The kids loved hanging out at the beach so every night we would just go down ti Waikiki beach and relax.

We were coming home from Haunama Bay we stopped at a place called Pali (sp?) lookout. It was so beautiful but I don't think that I have ever seen is so windy in all my life. I really thought it was going to blow me over. But I did love our cute hair!!
This is Maycie at Haunama Bay. She loved the water as long as her Daddy was there to take her out in it.
This is Derrik at Haunama Bay. He was such a good snorkeler. Daniel and him lived in the water and loved to see all the fish.
Marlee loved the birds. She kept trying to catch a bird. They were pretty fast. At one time I think she had about 20 birds surrounding us.

We didn't take our car seat so we bought one at Walmart when we got there. It just didn't have a way to rest his head so Derrik was his head rest!

This is Danny looking out from Diamond Head. That was an amazing hike with amazing views. Luckily it rained lightly some of time to cool us off.

We had an amazing time on our family trip to Hawaii. It was great to just spend time together as a family. The Journey and the Destination were unforgettable.

I Left My Heart in San Francisco

I now Know what they mean when they say "I Left my Heart in San Francisco". Danny and I just got back from an amazing vacation to San Francisco. We left all the kids home, packed our carry-ons and were on our way. We arrived on Thursday morning and didn't come home until Sunday.
This is one of my favorites. We are at the Golden Gate Park inside the Conservatorium of Flowers. We had walked lots and lots this day and it was nice to sit down for a minute.
This is us on the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a little windy on the walk back.
Here we are at the bottom of Lombard Street. We walked there from our hotel which was about 1/2 a mile away all UP HILL! It was worth it though.
This is my favorite picture of Danny and Chris. They look like they are having lots of fun!
This picture is of me and Danny on the wharf. It was a gorgeous day and we had just gotten done eating at Bubba Gumps Fish house. Yummy Yummy fish and Shrimp! The Wharf had tons of shops and good places to eat.
We went with a friend of Danny's from UPS and his wife, Chris and Linda. This is a picture of all 4 of us at the Golden Gate Park at the Conservatorium of Flowers. When we first arrived they told us to get a bus pass and it was good for all of the cable cars, buses and trolleys.
We had to get our picture taken in front of the sea lion statue. There were real Sea Lions all over down by the wharf. We loved the noises they made. The Sea Lions made us think of Dylan for some reason.
This is at the top of Lombard Street. This street is in the Guiness Book of World Records. It also had an awesome view at the top. It was fun to see the line of cars just waiting to drive down it. We also got to meet the man who takes care of the street. It is not owned by the city and is totally funded by private donations. It was beautiful.
Here are all four of us at the Golden Gate Bridge. This was one of my favorite parts. We walked all the way across the bridge and then all the way back. It was so amazing. We saw huge ships go underneath and of course the bridge is very busy with cars. It was 2 miles one way. They also have phones all across the bridge telling people to call if they need crisis counceling. I don't know how people could even think of jumping cause I could barely look down over the bridge without being scared out of my mind. It was so much fun to just walk and talk and be able to hold Danny's hand for almost 2 hours straight! Maybe that was why I liked the bridge so much.

The last day we were there we went to Alcatraz. This was also tons of fun. We took the audio tour and learned so many interesting facts. It was really amazing.

Danny loves Chinese food so he kept telling us that we had to go to Chinatown and eat "REAL CHINESE FOOD". So we take the bus and just get off somewhere and start walking around. Everything is in Chinese and is kinda dirty so we just kept wandering hoping something would look good to Danny. Then we saw two American's and decided to ask if they were locals. They said yes so Danny asked them "Where is the best place to get good Chinese food?" There answer was "NOT IN CHINA TOWN" So needless to say we were all ready there and decided to tough it out and eat somewhere since we were starving. We saw a sign that said "all you can eat Chinese buffet for $5.99" so we were sold. The funny thing was once you got in there, there was also a sign that said "There is a charge of $5.99 for Wastage of food." The food was terrible so we were all trying to sneak our food into the garbage so we didn't have to pay. It was funny. But at least Danny can say he ate in Chinatown.
One of Danny's favorite parts was riding on the Trolley cars and hanging off the side. The conductors called this riding in "First Class".
I guess it wouldn't be San Francisco without all of the street peddlers wanting money. San Francisco has the largest homeless population in America. There were all kinds of people from all walks of life. This one was one of Danny's favorites. He was senile and was playing a violin that did not even work.

The trip was amazing and we had so much fun. We were so glad that Chris and Linda went with us. I think the best part was just spending time with my amazing husband. He really is the best and I just realized more and more how much I love him!

We just got a brand new Stake Center so we have had many activities going on to celebrate the dedication. Daniel sang in a youth choir on Friday night and then on Saturday morning all of the Primary Kids got to go and put there Hand prints in cement at the new Stake Center. It was a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Grandpa & Mexican Night

Wednesday Feb. 11 was Grandpa Hawks' 59th Birthday. He came over for an icecream Cake and so we could sing Happy Birthday. I know my dad never looks at blogs, but I just want to tell him that he was the best dad ever for me. I love him so much and I am so thankful for the wonderful example he is to me and my family. Thanks Dad so much for all you do!
These next pictures are all from our amazing MEXICAN NIGHT. Brice planned an amazing night of all mexican food and then Grandma April had us playing Valentine games all night long. It was too much fun and too much food.

This was the blindfold game where we would blind fold one person and then go up and say "I love you" Then they would have to guess who was saying it.

Brice made the BEST turkey and chicken enchiladas. I did not know that he could cook, but these enchiladas were like professionals! I could not get over how good they were!

This was our licorice eating contest. I think Ryan won! He was quite fast with his mouth!

Here is Terry and Diana just chilling on the couch doing the licorice game. They are always so supportive of us and such good sports. I think there favorite game though is the quarter game.

This was just a perfect ending to a perfect day. We had so much fun and we are looking forward to our SCOTTISH Night next!!

Demmy's Baptism WOW!!

I know that everyone is amazed that I have finally posted again. I really don't know what happened. I would always think to myself"I really need to blog" but never did. Then Derrik said "No -you know what happened-You have six kids". That is very true that they do keep me very busy, but that is no excuse for not blogging. So I am going to try and not get so far behind and keep on blogging. (Besides I really hate being at the bottom of everyone's list of blogs!!!!)

Okay so this post is really going to be all about our adorable daughter DEMMY ARIANNA!
Demmy turned 8 years old on January 10. She was baptized on January 31 and confirmed on February 1. Demmy was baptized and confirmed by Danny. It was fun to see because he dunked her way under!! It was one of the best weekends ever! Lots of our amazing Families came down to help us enjoy this great event. We were so grateful for the sacrifices that they all made to get here! I know it was a long ways to come for some and not having a car or money makes it even harder so I just want you all to know how much we love you! The day started with Pancakes in the shape of an eight and ended with Demmy getting her ears pierced.

This is Great Grandma Faye talking to Demmy. Demmy loves her so much and loves doing stamps with her every Tuesday. I think Demmy might get her eagle when Daniel and Derrik Do!!!!!(Just kidding Boys! I love you!)

Here is all of the family. I always say that it is nearly impossible to have 8 people all smile and have their eyes open all at the same time! I think I was actually just happy that all of the kids would stand together for this picture.

Here is a group picture. Our family that was there were: Grandma and Grandpa Hawks, Great Grandma Hawks, Grandma and Grandpa Polad, Josh, Traci and Ian, Brandi, Heston, Decklin, Dalin and Kate, Kallee, Chad, Moises and Jay, Ryan, Megan, Torstan and Bryson, Terry and Brice. My camera of course would not take a picture when everyone was standing together and smililing so I just hurried and took this one when everyone was starting to move. (Danny is in the process of asking me if I got a good picture!!!)

This is the beautiful baptism girl in her brand new dress that Grandma April made for her. She felt (and looked) like a princess and didn't want to take the dress off! Demmy was the very first one to be baptized in our brand new Stake Center in Diamond Valley. There were 5 other kids baptized that day too.

Grandma and Grandpa Polad came down to share this special day with us. They had to come in a rental car, but that didn't stop them! They also gave Demmy her very first Book of Mormon which she treasures! She reads every morning in her new scriptures and just loves them!

My boys just hanging out. We arrived at the Stake Center very first and were about 40 minutes early. We were very excited. It was such a great weekend and we were so happy to spend time with all of our amazing family. Thanks so much for being apart of our lives. We love you all so much and couldn't do it without you! And Demmy you truly are the best! We love you so much and are so glad you decided to get baptized!

Hurray for Halloween! Yesterday was a busy day. It all started with being Derrik's room mother. I was in charge of the Halloween party. Luckily Danny and my mom came and helped and it turned out to be a great party. We made a pumpkin totem pole, spider suckers, had a donut eating contest and decorated cookies and made our own tombstones. It was a lot of fun. Then we headed off to Skywest for trick or treating. The kids seriously got a bag full of candy each. In fact Marlee was begging me to let her stop. She is too funny. Then we came home and Derrik, Daniel and Demmy went out with their friends and Danny, Maycie, Dylan, Marlee and me stayed home to watch Danny's all time Halloween favorite "Young Frankenstein". Isn't Halloween Great?!!!

This is Marlee as a cute little Cowgirl! Most of the time she didn't want her hat on and of course she wouldn't wear the cute pink gun she had, so she basically was just wearing a cute little dress! Love Ya Mars!!

Here is my adorable little witch Demmy. She got lots and lots of candy and was a big help with her little sister.

Here is Danny getting in the Holiday Spirit. The funny thing is he decided to start putting out the decorations at about 12:00 on HALLOWEEN. Gotta love it!!

Here is sweet Maycie Marie in her Goldilocks and the Three Bears Costume. She is standing next to our pumpkin totem pole that we made in Derrik's class at school and that is now in our front yard!!!

This is Derrik as our favorite Scary Clown. He is reading his tombstone to his class before we played Musical Tombstones.

Dylan was our little Tigger. He got the costume brand new and by the end of the night he had already grown out of it and had a hole in the end of his toe! Boy do they grow up fast!
This is a picture I love of Brice and Torsten. Almost all items you see on Brice were from a Yard Sale!! Yea for Yard sales!!
And here is my amazingly strong young man, Daniel. He of course is wearing the ever popular football costume. Have I mentioned that he is now taller then me???? It is so not fair!

The Grand Family (title by Demmy)

This has been a great weekend!! It started out with the family piling on each other and just being silly! I guess their new thing is to see how high they can pile on each other. They wanted me to set Dylan on top, but I just couldn't do it quite yet! And of course I couldn't be in the pile because then who would take the picture?

Then on Wednesday night Danny's parents, Dan and Gayle (aka Grandma and Grandpa Polad) came down for a fun visit. They made it just in time to see Daniel's football game and Derrik's practice. Then of course they had to stop at In and Out. The next day they took us all out to eat at Golden Corral and then the next morning it was the big hike up the volcano. Grandma Gayle watched the 4 little ones and then Danny, Grandpa Polad, Daniel and Derrik went on the hike. I think the fun part had to be coming down.

Then on Saturday we were off to the Grand Canyon! That was amazing. If you haven't been or if it has been awhile since you last went, boy should you go! It was so beautiful! It only took about 2 1/2 hours and was so worth the drive (Of course Daniel, Derrik and Demmy rode with Grandma and Grandpa Polad most of the time and Maycie, Dylan and Marlee slept so maybe that was why I enjoyed the drive!!! JUST KIDDING KIDS). Danny made us all a wonderful picnic lunch and we just walked around and enjoyed the amazing canyon!

We also were able to see the Kaibab Squirrel. This Squirrel is only found at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. (make sure to ask Danny his story about the cute little squirrel with the white tail). It was awe inspiring to see Heavenly Father's magnificent creations and to spend the day with our family! Thanks for visiting Grandma and Grandpa Polad! We love you!

Maycie

Maycie had been sick last Sunday with a fever but then felt better the next day. Then on Tuesday she started throwing up. She was still her happy mischievous self, but she couldn't keep anything down. Then on Wednesday we were getting worried so we took her to the dr.s. She told us to just give her pedalite. But by 5:00 that night she was still throwing up. So they told us to take her to the hospital so they could give her an IV so she didn't get dehydrated. We got to the hospital and I went with them so she could get the IV. Unfortunately she was very dehydrated and they couldn't get the iv in. It took them 2 hours, 4 doctors and about 15 needles till they finally got one in that would work. It was very sad. She would cry and cry but she had no tears. They took us back to her room and then started the liquids. They had put two bags of fluids in her and she still did not have a wet diaper. Usually kids will have a wet diaper after one, but she didn't. They said she was very dehydrated. It happened so fast just because she is so tiny. Luckily by the next afternoon she was doing better and they let us go home. She just had a yucky flu bug that got bad. Luckily she is doing wonderfully now and we are so glad that she is back to her happy self. Thanks so much for all your love and concern. These pictures are just a few at the hospital and then some when she was feeling better! Gotta love the hold she has on Dylan!

BETTER WITH AGE!

They always say that most things get better with age and I couldn't agree more! Sept 8 was Danny's birthday and he just turned 35! That sounds so old, but to me he still seems as young as the day I met him (which was when he was 21). The kids put candles in his pancake and then we sang Happy Birthday to him in Spanish. He is taking a Spanish Class at school so he wants us to try and speak as much Spanish as we can(which is very little). It was a fun night! He is such an amazing husband and father! I appreciate all he does for our family. He is so great with the kids! Especially Dylan. Not many Dad's would be excited to watch a newborn for 8 hours straight, but Danny always has a smile when I give him to him in the morning and then a smile when I get home later. He truly is amazing and I am so blessed to have him in my life! I hope he had a wonderful birthday and I can't wait to share 50 more birthdays with him! I LOVE YOU LOTS DANNY!

The Big House!!!

This had to of been one of the funnest weekends ever! For Danny's Birthday, we decided to get tickets to the Michigan vs. Utah game at the "Big House" in Michigan. So the journey began on Thursday. We woke up at 5:00 in the morning and headed off to the airport. Of course everyone else was trying to get to Michigan for the big game too. These are just a few pictures of the boys waiting at the airport. After getting bumped about 3 or 4 times, we made it to Toledo Ohio at about 10:00 at night. We decided to get a hotel that night and then head out to the BEST AMUSEMENT PARK ever the next day! The park is called Cedar Point and is home to about every ride imaginable. As Danny said "You walk in fear the whole day scared what the next ride will be". The rides were so awesome. All I can say is that everyone needs to go there. Danny and Daniel went on a roller coaster that takes you straight up 400 feet in the air and then straight down at 120 mph! I tried to add a picture, but believe me it doesn't do it justice. It is the scariest ride I have ever seen and one I did not dare to go on.

The amusement park is also right on Lake Erie. That was also amazing to see. It was such a fun day. Then at about 8:00 at night we headed to my Cousin Heidi's house. Blake and Heidi were so great! I cannot even begin to tell you all how nice they were to us. Their house is amazing. They have remodeled it and it looks so good! Blake's parents also came in for the game and they were so much fun! Daniel and Derrik had the best time hanging out with Hayden. He shared his room with them and was just awesome. Dylan also loved meeting his new cousin Henry. They are only about a month apart in age. Henry is such a cutie! We stayed up late talking and then woke up the next morning and had an amazing breakfast and then we were off to the Big HOUSE!

The stadium was amazing. I think it holds about 110,000 people. We were tiny red dots in a sea of yellow, but the Michigan fans were very nice. The game was great and of course Utah won. We had gotten our tickets off of ebay and amazingly enough, Heidi and Blake's were just a few rows from ours. After the game Blake showed us the campus and then took us to a store where I could buy a few Michigan souviners. Then we went back to Heidi and Blakes and had the BEST ribs ever. Blake's dad made the ribs and I still have dreams about them. They were so yummy. Unfortunatly our amazing trip had to come to an end. We left the next morning at 5:00 am Michigan time and didn't get home till 9:30 p.m Utah time, but it was all worth it. We had such a great time and just want to tell Heidi and Blake Thanks again! They are the BEST!

Back To School!!!!

It is finally time for school! Daniel, Derrik, Demmy and Marlee all started school an Tuesday August 12. Yes, even Marlee is now in school. She had her first day of kindergarten and boy does she love it! She is in the afternoon class and not one of her 5 or 6 friends from preschool and church are in her class. She is amazing though and has already made new friends. Daniel is in 7th grade and goes to school at Tonaquint Intermediate School. He wakes up at about 6:15 and catches the bus at 6:45. School doesn't start till 7:50, but it is a long bus ride. He loves it! Derrik is in 5th grade and is now the king of the school! (He just told me I signed up to be a room mother for his class! I can hardly wait!!!) Demmy is in 2nd grade and just got the cutest haircut for school and gets to sit next to her bestfriend! On the first day of school Demmy asked her teacher if she could bring real people for show and tell. She wants to bring Dylan and Maycie. They are just too cute! What will I do all day without them home???!!!!!

The only sad part of the day was when we took Marlee up to school and to her class. Maycie started to cry when Marlee went in her class and kept saying "Marlee, Marlee, Marlee". I guess she was really missing her partner in crime!! Marlee has taught Maycie everything she knows. And if any of you know Marlee, that is alot to teach!! It was a great day and we know it will be a great year! (I just had to post a picture of Dylan so he didn't feel left out. I think he misses the kids too! He doesn't know how to sleep as good because there is no noise to put him to sleep!!!!

THE END OF SUMMER!!

Summer is almost over! The kids are back in school on Tuesday so we decided we needed to one more fun summer activity. And of course it had to be Lagoon. We missed Lagoon last year so there were a few rides we had not been on before. This was also our first official trip with only Danny and I watching ALL SIX KIDS by ourseleves!!(no grandma and grandpa to help) Boy were we outnumbered, but the kids were awesome and we made it! The rides were great! It was a wonderful trip spending time together as a family! We have had a wonderful and busy summer!

Summer Vacation

It was finally time for a family vacation. We have always wanted to take the kids to San Diego and Sea world and we finally got our chance. We packed our carry-ons and were on our way. Danny and I, the kids and Grandma and Grandpa Hawks all arrived in Old Town San Diego. We went swimming in the hotel pool the first day and just walked around.

The next day was our big day for Sea World. We loved seeing the dolphins and Shamu the Whale and the Polar Bears! Some of us even got wet! The next day we were off to the San Diego Zoo. So many animals and so little time! Then the last day we just walked around Old Town San Diego and got on the plane. It was wonderful just spending time together as a family!

Dylan & Daniel's Special Day

Sunday July 6 was the big day! Daniel received the priesthood and Dylan was blessed! It was an amazing day! Danny gave 2 amazing blessings and bore his testimony! He is the best husband and father ever! I am so blessed!! Grandma and Grandpa Polad, Grandma and Grandpa Hawks, Kallee and Jay, Terry and Diana, Aleena, Ryan , Megan, Torstan, Bryson, and Great Grandma Hawks all shared in our special day! It was also Danny's Dads Birthday! We had a great day! Thanks so much everyone that came to be with us! We love you all!

IT'S A BOY!!!

The big day finally arrived. I was scheduled to be induced on Monday so we were very excited. I have never gone on my own so I just figured this would be no different. We went to bed at about 12:00 because Maycie just didn't want to go to sleep. So then at about 3:00 am I woke up with contractions. They were about 5 minutes apart. They hurt but not too bad so I got up and looked on the internet when you should go to the dr.s. Still not yet. So I tried to sleep and then finally I decided that I would wake up Danny. He was getting excited and said let's get ready. I still wasn't sure if we should go yet so we took our time and the contractions got stronger and quicker. Then at about 5:30 the hospital called and asked if I could be there in an hour. I said for sure! I hung up and called my mom and then told Danny that I couldn't wait an hour we needed to go NOW! We got in the car and took off! Danny was loving it because he had a good reason to drive fast and he said he had always wanted to raise to the hospital! I was just in so much pain and wanted to get there. We came to a yellow light and he started to slow down and I said "What are you doing? Just GO!" So he ran a red light. Then he almost missed the turn to the hospital and I freaked out! I just wanted to get there! We finally got there and walked in and there were about 12 nurses just standing there staring at me while I cried. Finally we got a room and they told me that I was at an 8!!! I was so excited and could not believe I had done it on my own!

Then at 8:21 am our beautiful baby boy was born! He weighed in at 7 pounds and was 19" long! He is perfect! The kids are so excited and couldn't wait to come and hold their new baby brother. Maycie especially can not keep her hands off of him. She just keeps saying BABY! BABY! We have been so blessed and are so excited to have this sweet new baby be apart of our family!

Basketballs, Trampoline and Baby

Okay so the boys and Danny were all out playing basketball and I went out to say hi! Danny then looked at me and smiled and then grabbed the basketball. I knew what he was thinking! It was time for the baby and the basketball pictures! So here are just a few. The kids and Danny didn't want me to feel left out so of course they tried to have big tummies too!

So then we decided to see if I could start my labor by jumping on the trampoline. Little did I know that I could barely climb onto the trampoline. Danny has the camera and starts telling me to do toe touches! AHHH not toe touches!!!!! I can't even bend over and touch my toes when I am on the ground! It sure was fun to try though. Danny did say I did get a little bit of air! Everyone ended up on the trampoline and had a great night. But still no baby. Maybe next week when we go white water river rafting!!!!! (Just Kidding)

In and Out Track Meet??

Okay, Well Derrik had his big Track Meet last Thursday. He had made it to the finals and we couldn't wait to see the big event. He thought it started at 5:00 so we got there right on time so we could get a good seat. People were pouring in so we hurried and got a good seat. Well then come to find out that it really didn't start until 5:30 and that Derrik was running in the very last race. But that was okay. Grandma and Grandpa were on there way so I told them they didn't have to hurry and would they mind stopping at IN and OUT to get us some food?! That saved the day! They showed up with lots of fries and burgers and we were all happy campers. You could even hear murmurs from the people around us wishing they could have an In and Out Burger. I think they really are the best. Well anyways back to Derrik. He finally got to run and he did so awesome. He came in 3rd in his heat and just did great! We are so proud of him and all the great things he does. He may not be the biggest or the fastest kid out there but he sure gives it his best and never quits. We love you Derr Bear!

Marlee's Preschool Graduation!!!

Well Today was the big day. Marlee graduated from Little Rascal's Preschool. She was sooo excited and kept asking if it was time to go yet! She even let me curl her hair. We were all very excited. Grandma April, Maycie, Mom and Dad were all there! She sang songs and told us her favorite things to do at preschool. Then she said the nursery rhyme "Wee Willie Winkie" all by herself. She was so good! She even got a yearbook to take home. Some of the highlights were the Famous Quotes in the yearbook. These were Marlee's: "Don't talk to my dad, he's shy", and "I tell my dad to say excuse me but he doesn't" and one more "My cat rides my bike when I'm outside playing in the sand". Oh she really makes us laugh. Well now she is on to kindergarten. I don't know where the time has gone but we sure do love our "Sillybuns"!!!

Derrikand the month of April

I guess I would have to say that the month of April is for Derrik! At the begining of the month Derrik ran in his school track meet. He came in first place for the 200 and first in the long jump! Go Derrik! So now he is on to region in May. Then he had his Science Fair. Derrik decided to do "Onions- the Vegetable worth crying about". He did a great job and as you can see from the pcitures googles do help you not to cry when you cut an onion! Then on Thursday was Derrik's big 10 Birthday! Grandma April made him a ripstick birthday cake which was the best ever! It has been a great month and we are so glad that Derrik is apart of our family! Love Ya lots Derr!!!!

Fountain Fun

I know it has been awhile since I last posted. So here are some pictures from a couple of weeks ago. We were supposed to go up to Ogden for a family party, but the flights looked bad and it was supposed to be 31 degrees outside with a windchill of 16 degrees so we decided to stay home. Instead we went on a hike to Chuckawhalla and then downtown to the new water fountains. It was about 70 degrees outside. The hike was fun and Derrik was amazing. He gave Marlee a piggy back ride for the last half of the hike. (I think Marlee almost weighs as much as Derrik) Then we needed to cool off so we went downtown to the fountains. The kids loved the fountains and getting wet. Derrik and Daniel got the wettest! Maycie wasn't sure about the water at first but then we couldn't get her to leave. It was a great day!

HIke to volcano and Snow Canyon

Easter Weekend has become one of my new favorite Holiday's I've decided. After the Easter Egg Hunt (See posts below), we went on a hike to the volcano up in Diamond Valley. The last time that I had hiked the volcano was about 11 years ago when I was about 7 months pregnant with Daniel, our first child. So I guess it was about time I was hiking it again, being that I am 7 months pregnant with our last child. It was quite a hike but we all made it. In one picture with Daniel, Derrik, Demmy and Marlee their school is in the background! Grandpa and the boys went down the front, steep side of the volcano, while the girls and Danny(who carried Maycie the entire time) went down the safer way. I think Grandpa timed us and it only took us about 28 minutes longer to come the other way. Then on Sunday afternoon we went to the Snow Canyon Sanddunes. This use to be a Hawks cousin tradition. We rolled Easter Eggs, and got buried in the sand and then just walked and played in the sand. I almost forgot, it wouldn't be Easter Weekend without going to the Annual Arts Festival. That was lots of fun too, but I forgot to take my camera.

EASTER!!!

Easter was too much fun! Kallee, Chad, Jay and David all came down to visit. We woke up early and headed to the Winchester Hills Easter Egg hunt at the park. Of course the EASTER BUNNY was there! Maycie was scared of course, (you can see her crying) but the other kids couldn't keep from laughing because they knew who the Easter Bunny really was! (Notice Grandma April isn't in any of the Easter pictures). The kids also had a great Easter morning looking for more eggs at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was great spending time with family and especially having Kallee and her family here!

Okay I guess I am having too much fun. I had to post one more time today. Danny and I just took a trip to Hawaii and had a great time. We went with Danny's dad and step mom and Danny's brother Jason and his wife Liz. The highlight of the trip had to be when we went to a night show called the Society of Seven. Danny was called up out of the audience and had to dress up as Elvis and sing and dance. It was the funniest. We do have it on video!!!!! The entire trip was great though. We went to Pearl Harbor, the Swap meet, Polynisian Culture Center, Hanuama Bay, and Waikiki Beach. And we were only there for 3 days!

Okay! Now I am really going to start posting. I did one back in Nov. and then stopped. Of course I never told anyone about it so maybe this time I will. We have been very busy since Nov. So I guess I will just start recapping a few things. December was amazing. We spent time with our families far away and also close by. The kids loved doing the manager scene and decorating the tree. It was a great month!

Then in January the girls had a birthday party with their new friends down here. It was a princess party so everyone dressed up like a princess. Demmy was Belle and Marlee was Cinderella. Grandma April came as a clown and made balloons and lots of fun crafts. The best part had to be Danny dressed up as the Beast. All of the little girls loved him!

January and February have just flown by! We had a wonderful Valentines and the kids are doing great in school. Derrik had his pinewood derby and his car had the fastest track time! (Thanks to Danny's help with all the weight they kept adding)! Then Danny and the kids went on a hike with Grandma and Grandpa Hawks, Terry and Diana and Megan and Torsten. They had too much fun! I of course was hard at work! These are just a few of the fun pictures that show all that has been going on!

Then of course for those few who may not know, we found out that we are going to have our sixth child! We are very excited and cannot wait! We found out that it is going to be a BOY! So now that we will have 3 of each and I guess we can be done! Our new baby is due to arrive on June 16!

Well I finally gave in a decided to try this. Now that I don't get to see everyone as often as I use to, this should be a good way to keep everyone updated on what is going on. Our lives have been very busy. Last weekend we all went hiking in Snow Canyon. That was fun. We found out the Maycie wants to be a mountain goat. She wouldn't let us hold her and was trying to climb up the mountain by herself. Boy they grow up fast!!
